Sehwag wasn’t going to let Vaughan off the hook.

Virender Sehwag, the former Indian batsman, was one of the most dynamic batsmen the country has ever been a witness to. He was nowhere close to the textbook and was purely unorthodox in his stroke-making. But it didn’t stop him from weaving magic on the cricket field. Bowlers were wary of him and rightly so, bearing in mind the approach he took even in Test cricket.
In the most traditional format of the sport, Sehwag didn’t mind taking the aerial route. It was because of him that the third man became a catching position as he used to play the upper cut with grace and authority. The Delhi-born was the first Indian batter to notch a triple-century in the red-ball format at the highest level. He did it versus Pakistan in Multan back in 2004.
Four years later, Sehwag piled up another triple century against South Africa at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Apart from that, he also racked up four double centuries. In 104 Tests, the Nawab of Najafgarh piled up 8,586 runs at an average of 49.34. It was only at the fag end of his career that the average dropped below 50 owing to his poor run of form.
Sehwag turns 41
However, it was a bit of a disappointment that he couldn’t replicate his Test run in ODI and T20I cricket. In both the formats, he ended with an average of 35.05 and 21.88 respectively. His last international match was versus Australia in Hyderabad way back in 2013. In the meantime, Sehwag has turned 41 years old and the cricketing fraternity showered praises on him.
Michael Vaughan, the retired England captain, wished Sehwag, but was cheeky in his message. He called Sehwag a 50-year-old. Vaughan took to Twitter and wrote, “Happy 50th birthday @virendersehwag… Have a great day …,”

Sehwag is not someone, who doesn’t prefer to stay bogged down by trolls. He has been witty and reverted in his unique style. He also thanked Vaughan for his wishes and called himself ageless and timeless. Sehwag replied and wrote, “Thanks for your wishes Michael. How do you manage to keep track? I am ageless and timeless buddy,”
